I have been playing football since 3rd grade. These experiences have given me a love for the game that has no equal. It has changed my work ethic and has made a great impact on my personality all together. During my TIFI Sophomore year I started to understand the concept of the game, and it started to mean a great deal to me. My first inspiration to hit hard was actually a 30 for 30 on Herschel Walker. It was his tenacity and state of mind on the field that made me realize, when you walk onto the field, you have to have the mindset to go out there and rip somebody's head off. It is important to be a tone setter, because my favorite thing to do on the opening kickoff is to blow somebody up. That is a play that initially pumps up your team and the fans.
When I first started football, I was very fortunate to have the coaches I did, because they taught me the fundamentals of the game. Most importantly, they taught me how to lose with dignity and display good sportsmanship- that was a hard lesson to learn. This has prepared me in becoming better at my position, growing in the game, and learning how to have the right mindset for getting back out there and correcting my mistakes to help my team. These distinctive characteristics have helped me to mature into the player that I am today, taught me there is always room for improvement, and that I am not entitled to anything. Not to mention it has taught me to be part of a team, and to take responsibility for my mistakes.
If I could attend your school, that provides an excellent education and football opportunity, I would devote my time and energy in becoming one of the best student athletes on campus. Football is not forever, and neither are our lives, so we should make the most of what we have while we can.
