Greetings Coach,
My collegiate goals and aspirations are set very high. With over 11 years of playing football, baseball and running track starting in the Boys and Girls Club, Jr. High and now High School Level, I have always done my best to excel for the team first than secondly evaluate my personal performance and correct what's needed from the feedback of my coaches. Since my participation in Boys and Girls, I have been taught to have Respect for my teammates and on the sports platform, be Discipline with my duties, attitude and performance, and lastly have Fun playing the game with my teammates, and coaches. Playing football, baseball and running track is a privileged to me because it allows me to express my Character, Leadership, Athletic Skills, and most importantly Attitude with acquaintance's and strangers to work together as one to accomplish the same goal and that is to Win.
I started my 4th season 2016'-2017' playing Varsity as a starter again as a Slot/Receiver, Free Safety, Kick and Punt returner. I was named Captain for our team and I am one of the Top Receivers in our District and Rio Grande Valley in Receptions. My Career performance so far in 3 1/2 years have been 41 Games played started all of them, 177 catches 1911 yards and 19 TD's. I received honors such as Maxpreps.com Overall Player of the Game 3 Times, Offensive Player of the Game 7 Times, Special Teams player of the game 1 time and named VMHS Offensive Newcomer of the Year my freshman year, was named by Unanimous Votes First Team All District and named to the RGVsports.com First Team All Valley my Sophomore year, 2nd Team All District and VMHS Offensive Player of the Year my Junior Year 956Sports 1st Team Offense Slot Receiver. I was humbled when my Head Coach nominated me for All State recognition both my Sophomore and Junior Year. I might have not received those honors but the fact of being nominated was clearly an accomplishment. Not only Football have I excelled but I am a 3 year letterman in Baseball with honors earned my freshman year as All District Honorable Mention - Utility Player, All District Honorable Mention - Outfielder my sophomore year. In the last 3 years of varsity baseball my career batting average is .333 in over 95 games. I participate in track running the 400 and part of our 4x400 Relay with splits of 51.6.
I am an A - B student in which I enjoy learning something everyday and expanding my knowledge to prepare me for my future. I would like someday to teach History and possibly coach some level of Athletics to the youth. Giving my services back to the community who thought me and gave me the opportunity to succeed is what I would like to accomplish.
My Character, Leadership, Communication, Desire, Hard Work Ethics, and High Expectations are features of who I am on and off the field. These qualities makes me different from other student athletes. I am looking for a University and or College that will give me the opportunity to accomplish my goals in the classroom first and also the opportunity to make an immediate impact on the field for the team to succeed.
Respectfully,
Roman Justin De Leon
