Zakary Bauer '18 Recruiting Profile

I have always had a special love for football.  I am one of a handful of players in the history of Clarion Area’s Football program that started on the offensive line during their sophomore year.  I learned firsthand about strategy, playing smart and working hard as a team to compete against opponents that were more experienced.  Because of this opportunity, starting in my junior year I called the schemes for both sides of the ball and developed strategies as we approached the line to successfully execute our plays.  I am proud that our quarterback was never sacked and our team rushed for 2,897 yards (263.4 ypg) during my junior year.    

Working with my teammates, I have developed techniques to find the deficiencies of our opponents which I communicate before and during the game putting our team in the best chance to win.  In my junior year, I was selected as an offensive lineman to the All-Conference, All-County and Tri-County First Teams and received the team award for lineman of the year.  I am very competitive and don’t like to lose.  I work hard both during and after the season.  Some of my other loves include weight lifting, basketball and running my own business. 

I am looking for a school that has a premier program in political science, government and/or pre-law.  I am passionate about politics, policy making, looking at issues from various viewpoints and developing strategies to implement a game plan.  I am entrepreneurial and started my own business when I was sixteen.  I host esports gaming tournaments and also market merchandise for a company that I have been affiliated with since 2016 as the sales director.  Academically, I am enrolled in the AP and College Prep Classes.  I am on the honor roll, a member of the National Honor Society and have been selected to the Pennsylvania Football News All-Academic Team since playing varsity football.  My favorite classes are American Government, History and Physics.
