My earliest memories involve me kicking a soccer ball, swinging a bat, or running down a lacrosse field. I have always loved sports and have excelled at them from an early age. When I entered high school, I became a kicker for our Varsity team as a ninth grader. One of my very first field goal attempts was a 37-yard field goal kick with 4 seconds left on the clock in a tie game. I drilled it and we won! I fell in love with kicking and stopped playing other competitive sports at that time so that I could focus 100% on being the best kicker possible. In addition to giving my all to practicing with my team, I attend a kicking camp at Toms River, New Jersey each summer; am dedicated to fueling my body with the best nutrition possible; and working out religiously 12 months a year to ensure I am in the best shape possible for the season.
Throughout my football career I have been recognized for many accomplishments. For my freshman year season, I was recognized as the Section III All Conference Kicker. During my sophomore year, I received an All-State Honorable Mention. WKTV, our local news station, recently named me as the All Star Kicker of the Year for 2015.
My dream is to kick in the National Football League. Although that is a long time away, I know I have to work hard as an athlete and as a student from now in order to get there. Over the years, I have learned that nothing comes easy in life. I have learned that with hard-work, determination and with support from your family and friends, you can achieve almost anything that you put your mind to. During my senior year of varsity football I will continue to work collectively with my teammates and coaches in hopes to reach another Championship Title. As I complete my high school career I will continue to attend kicking camps, work closely with my coaches, and practice on my own in addition to working my hardest to do well in school so that I will earn the right to attend a college that focuses both on my academics and athletics.
I have seen firsthand the importance of having solid leadership on a team. Over the years I believe that I have been a strong leader to my fellow teammates. During practices I am always willing to assist, provide positive reinforcement, and cheer my teammates on during games. I am a team player. This year I was the backup running back when my teammate was hurt. I always strive to do my best and when working with my teammates I push them to work to the best of their abilities.
Growing up I have always had a strong worth ethic, in school, on the field, and in the community. This year I have over twenty five hours of community service. Placing flags on the grave stones of our Veterans for Veteran’s Day was one community event that I participated in. I am focused and determined. I learn fast and I take pride in what I do. I always give my best effort and I work closely with others in order to accomplish what needs to be done. I believe playing sports and being part of a team has helped me to build some of these character traits that will help me to succeed in school, on the field and in my future career.
I look forward from hearing from you and furthering my academic and athletic career at your college/university. If you should need any further information please contact me at [email protected] or 315-360-4373.
