I started playing football when I was 7 years old. I stepped on to that grass for the first time and I instantly fell in love with the game. I knew where I wanted to be. As the years went on, I continued to play all the way up through high school, but unfortunately I did not start the first year. Its incredibly difficult not being the best at what you love, so I let that passion drive me to be strive to be my best. I worked out and trained everyday, chasing the idea of being the best. Next season I completely changed everything I was doing. I was bigger, I was stronger, and I was faster. But more than anything, I was mentally stronger and was able to conquer anything that came my way. I pushed myself on the field as much as was physically possible. I was determined on getting my job done every play, and the only thing that was going to take me off that field was a stretcher. I knew that my team was counting on me. If we didn't come together and push with everything we had, we wouldn't have been successful. I was finally done letting my body tell me what it could do. I found the power to make my body obey what my mind tells it. As long as I have the will power, there is nothing I can't push myself to do. Its all about the training, the passion and mind set. The training improves me,the passion drives me,and the will to succeed pushes me past my breaking point.
At the end of my sophmore year, I earned the coaches award and my coach told me he was proud to watch me transform from just another player to the most dominant on the field. The next year I started at right guard and the coach had me playing all positions on the offensive line. At the end of our year, I was so sad, I told coach that last year I didn't understand why some of the player cried at the end of the year. But now I got it, finally being one of them. After all you go through with these boys, watching the season end is the hardest thing to do. I wasn't expecting an award at the end of the year because I wasn't a senior. I would have never expected my name being in the pamphlet for honorable mention for Section 6 all-stars, and I smiled hearing my name called on stage for the chop award for a never give up attitude and never taking a play off. This game means everything to me. I refuse to give up on the game I love while there is still life in my body!
