Ethan Montgomery '21 Recruiting Profile

Hello Coaches, my name is Ethan Micheal Montgomery. I am currently a freshman at Maranatha Christian Academy. It is a 2A school that has some hot competition such as Minneapolis North High School. I play junior varsity basketball and varsity baseball for maranatha. Maranatha doesn’t have a football team so we Co-op with Providence Academy. Providence is a 3A school, and is a top school in the class. This season i didn’t miss a snap on our JV team that finished with a 4-2 record. I started Right Outside Linebacker, and played some center as well which was a new experience. I was also on the varsity squad that finished the regular season with a record of 4-4 and a second round section loss to Jordan high school. On varsity i got a couple snaps a game as linebacker, and i played on Kickoff, Kick return, punt, and punt return every game. What makes me different from other players is my knowledge of the game, leadership, and work ethic. I averaged 7 solo tackles, and 2 sacks per JV game, and finished the year with 6 interceptions, three of them being ran back for a touchdown. My work ethic is one of the biggest on the team. I work year round in the weight room at Providence, and train at Gameface training in Brooklyn Park MN. That work has landed me a Freshman record PR in deadlifting at Providence, with a solid 415 lbs lift this fall. My Bench PR is currently 150 lbs and i’m working to improve on that everyday. I can squat 320 lbs, and can clean 170 lbs. This year i led the JV team as a captain and as a leader on and off the field. At Maranatha, I play bass guitar on the worship team. I credit all my success to Jesus Christ and I am looking to go into theology or some degree in that field. I know that my path is in God’s hands and i’m trusting in him fully.
