My name is Dalton Rupp and I’m currently a Senior at Maize High School in Maize, Kansas. The second of four children, I come from a family of sports athletes. Over the years, I’ve played a number of competitive sports including football, baseball and basketball. However, football has been my passion and is currently my sole sport. I’ve been playing tackle football for eight years now, playing both sides of the ball until specializing in the Linebacker position as a Freshman in high school. Last year, as a Junior, I received my second Varsity letter along with Honorable Mention LB for the Ark Valley Chisolm Trail League (Div I). During the previous off-season, all of my time was spent in the weight room and conditioning to enhance my speed and foot work.
The characteristics of good sportsmanship and leadership that I’ve gained by being a part of the football team are traits I try hard to carry off the field as well. I strive to be respectful and give 100% in everything I do. In addition to taking honors level high school classes, my high school plan has included college classes. At this time I have dual high school education tracks focusing on both culinary arts and healthcare. It is my hope to combine these two fields as I move on to college and focus on getting my degree in youth psychology.
My coaches and teachers would describe me as hard working, dedicated and humble. I feel strongly that there is never a game or a test that I couldn’t have done better at. Life is a constant learning experience in which we all, regardless of how well we may have done, have the ability to learn, grow and do better the next time. This is my personal philosophy. That, coupled with my dedication and desire to always give my all, defines me and has helped me to remain level-headed about life. My goal is to be able to play football at the collegiate level and continue to learn and grow in football… and life.
