Football was never a huge part of my family. My dad didn’t play and only one of my uncles played. My earliest football memory was my dad yelling at Brett Farve to get out of bounds when the Vikings were playing the Saints in the NFC Championship game. I was six at the time and the only sports I had played were soccer and basketball. I thought that in every sport, if the ball went out of bounds, the team with the ball lost possession. From that point on, I was interested in learning more about football. That interest turned into a full-fledged obsession. When I started playing football in 5th grade, I was your typical kid who had just started football. I thought I would be great and the best player on the team. I wasn’t the best by any means, but I was able to start on both sides on the 5th-6th grade team.
I have competed in numerous sports in addition to football. I have been playing soccer and basketball since I was four. I have also competed in triathlons, swimming, wrestling and tae-kwon-do in which I earned a black belt. In my 7th grade year, I went to state in track in both the discus and as part of our schools 4 x 400 relay team.
My personal goals for the current football season are to average 10 tackles, 1 sack and 2 tackles for a loss per game. I also plan to compete for FBU Team Illinois and continue my development as a football player by starting at wide receiver and defensive end. For the school year, I want to achieve all A's and make high honor roll.
