While I have not played football for very long, the lessons I have learned both on the field and in the weight room are ones I will take with me for my entire life. I love the sport because the bond I build with my teammates is unbeatable; we all have unique personalities, but we are a cohesive unit on the field. We encourage each other to better ourselves both on and off the field. I know that, on the field, my job as a lineman is to protect my teammates, my brothers. Off the field, my job is to focus in the classroom and help in my community so that I can be accountable for my team, teachers, coaches and myself. I wish I had begun playing football at an earlier age, but I value every game and practice I get. Being able to continue playing through out my collegiate career is a dream of mine because football pushes me to be a better person as a whole. It gives me the discipline and tenacity to accomplish whatever challenges lay before me, and while I know I will always have those skills, I hope I can continue to have football in college as a motivator.
