I have been playing football since I was in third grade. I always have goals for the season that will help push me to be the best player I can be. I have wanted to play collegiate football after seeing the competitiveness it can bring out of people that play. Every time I put on the pads, whether it is practice or a game, I strive to be the best I can be.
I work on improving my skills on and off the field through out the year. I work with my high school coaches to work on long snapping and blocking during the winter. During summer workouts I attend every practice and stay after to work on my long snapping. On the field I bring intensity and leadership on both sides of the ball. The coaches know me well and like my field play, hard work, and dedication.
I have been on the high honor roll with a GPA of 3.74 out of 4. I work hard outside of the classroom to get the best grades I can. I am a student ambassador that helps fundraise for the school and helps incoming students fit in with the school.
Not only can I bring hard work and dedication to the team, but I can bring flexibility. I have a great understanding of what others are doing on the field, so I am not limited to just long snapper and center. I always look forward to getting on the field and working hard. I can take criticism and put it into what I need to work on. I strive to become the hardest working and greatest leader.
Recent success in the summer of 2015 is that I was invited to the Rubio Long Snapping Underclassmen Invite Camp. Out of the 60 long snappers there I made it to the top eight of the competition for accuracy.
This past July I was named a top performer at the Rubio Long Snapping Camp in July. In his blog he said "Zach Appio showed me some great things in IL. Good snapper."
