My name is Andy Tate, I have been playing ball since I was 8 years old. Last year I played both JV and Varsity level ball. Between the two teams, I played every position except for QB. I am a very diversified and disciplined player. I have maintained a 3.44 GPA in my High School Career. Since freshman year I have been elected captain every year (last year was captain for the JV team).
I am involved in my community by doing community service (assistant coach in Volleyball and Baseball this year).
Playing College ball is important to me as playing football allows me to channel my energy and abilities in a constructive manner, while also supporting me to focus more on academics. I choose football over other sports first off because it is a team sport. Like in life, it is critical to have a team around you to support you and make up for your weakness. Teams go further because they support each other.
Secondly, I choose football because it is a disciplined sport. While I have a natural ability to read the field and adjust quickly, I must be disciplined by monitoring the other team throughout the game. I also must be disciplined to train and improve my strength by attending workouts and off season events. I even joined the wresting team this year to help improve my upper body strength.
By having me on your team you will invest in a mature, committed and dedicated player.
