I am a 3 year 2-way varsity starter (RG & DE). I started both ways on JV as an 8th and 9th grader (RG, LG, DE & DT). My High School team needs me on the line because of my toughness in the trenches, but at 6'1 I can lose 20 lbs and play LB and FB in College (or where ever I'm needed). I win my battles in the trenches (see my video highlights).
I was named by the AJC to the 1st Team All-Region Defense DL, and to the Dekalb County All Classification All Star Team. The game is set for Jan 9, 2016.
I wrestle and practice against 300 pounders (same size as the linemen I face) so I'm used to going against guys 30-50 pounds heavier than me. I've started both ways on every team I've played on since I was 5 years old. My father has raised me to treat others the way I want to be treated, except on the football field where I seek and destroy and make my opponents prefer to have nothing to do with me. When I'm on defense, they run and pass the other direction once they see they can't run over me, even with a double team. On offense I grade out at over 90 percent regularly, so I frustrate those trying to get around me because they usually end the game with no tackles or quarterback hurries or penetration. A lot of times they find themselves flat on their back and embarrassed. I am very strong, not just physically, but especially in math. I plan major in engineering or sports management.
I want to coach football and be an athletics director. I know the job of every player on every play on our team. I will work hard to be a great student in the class room and teammate on and off the field. I get along with almost everyone. People tend to gravitate to me because of my humor and positive outlook on life. I like doing community service and helping others less fortunate than me. My Sophomore project was a community service project where my father and I, along with a few of my classmates, fed the residents of a women's shelter that housed 26 residents, mothers and their children. I'm a great friend and teammate. That won't change because that's just who I am. I'm becoming a better student because I am taking my class work more seriously than I did my 1st 2 years of high school. My GPA shows me as a "C" student, but that was without applying myself. Now I'm making A's and B's and my GPA will be higher. Offer me a scholarship and you won't regret it. Sign me and you'll be happy you did. I will be one of the players to earn my degree and make the University I represent proud. Hopefully it's you that I make proud. Good luck in your recruitment of me, Xyron Kordell Jackson, #55 in your program.
Best Regards,
Xyron Jackson
