Jaylon Turner '21 Recruiting Profile

I would like to start off by saying that my overall goal is to set a new trend in my family. I want to be the first to graduate from college and play football at the collegiate level. My goal is to lead by example by showing my younger cousins that with hard work, discipline and setting goals for yourself, you can achieve your dreams. 

Being raised by a single mother, I never had a male figure or male role model in my life. I didn’t have anyone to throw the ball around with or to go over football plays with. I was 10 years old when my mother allowed me to play tackle football. I was this big kid, bigger than my peers who didn’t know how to put my pads on, or to put the laces out when kicking the ball. But when I started playing football I had these coaches who stepped up to coach and mentor me. Football gave me the what I had been lacking in my life. I am grateful to every coach who helped mold me into the young man and athlete I am today.

I am only a high school freshman and I know I have fours year to grow and improve physically and academically. I do realize that it is going to take time, hard work, and discipline.  I am ready to set my goals now so that I can achieve my dream.  I just need that coach who is willing to show me the way.
