I have always been told that I am a natural leader and athlete. At school, I am involved in ASB, Class Council, played on three varsity sports teams (Football/Track/Golf), various community service clubs, as well as being a leader for my school's student spirit section at sporting events. As Senior Vice President of my class and Captain of the Varsity football team, I possess the leadership skills that any team could use, whether it is on or off the field. I am the league champ in track in 2 events, 100 meter dash and long jump. Since last year, I have increased my speed to a 4.62 40 time, as well as gaining 20 pounds of muscle mass.
I began my senior year starting on both offense and defense, as running back, line backer, special teams and captain. Unfortunately I suffered a season-ending injury during the second game of the season and have been in a cast for 6 weeks. I fractured my fibula but did not damage any ligaments, and I am expected to make a full recovery. Although my season was cut short, I hope a recruiter can see my speed and skill set from the film I have from the first game. You will not find a harder worker or more dedicated player and leader.
Update to my injury - I am back full throttle, sprinting and jumping for the track team, hoping to beat my league records from last year. Also, at our football banquet recently I was awarded the Nick Ekbatani Award for Most Inspirational Player, the last award of the night before MVP. I am greatly honored the coach recognized my efforts to inspire my teammates on and off the field before and after my injury.
