Hi, my name is Michael Veyette Jr., but my family and friends call me Mikey. I am a Junior at Huntington Beach High School and the sport I play is Football. I am the Quarter Back.
I began playing football in fourth grade after years of begging to play sports. I started out in flag football and after four years of playing flag, my parents let me play pop warner in eighth grade. That year I played in Lakewood, CA with the Lakewood Lancers. The positions I played were QB and Linebacker. It was a great experience and I loved it! My favorite part about playing tackle versus flag was how much more dynamic the game felt. I enjoyed the ability to use the run option when appropriate, and the rush of hitting and getting hit can not be duplicated.
For my Freshman year I attended Los Alamitos High School. I was the Quarter Back for the freshman team. We had a great season of 8-2. We ran a pro-style offense and I threw over fifteen touchdown passes. After 9th grade, my family moved to Huntington Beach and I became an Oiler at HBHS my Sophomore year. I played QB and Linebacker on the JV team and Special-Teams on Varsity. This past season during my Junior year, I played QB, Linebacker, and Special-Teams on JV and Varsity. I was also awarded MVP for the JV team. I am very much looking forward to this upcoming season for my Senior year. My team’s primary focus for me this year is playing Quarter Back.
Off the field I stay in shape by hitting the gym regularly, running 20-25 miles throughout the week, and taking hot yoga classes as time permits. Currently my max bench is 260 lbs., max squat is 350 lbs., max clean 231 lbs., and my max push press is 230 lbs. I take a lot of pride in working hard off the field to make sure I am physically and mentally fit.
