Samuel Ness '17 Recruiting Profile

I would love to play at Stanford or at an Ivy League School but I'm open to playing anywhere I can get a top flight education. Education comes first for me. I am currently taking 5 AP classes in my junior year. I maintain a straight A's and I am on Valedictorian track. This doesn't mean, however, that I'm not fully committed to football. I train 6 times per week outside of school along with weightlifting every week day before school. My sophomore year went well. As the youngest player on my Varsity team I started for the entire season. I received All-County and All-Area honors for linebacker. I led my team in tackles and, according to Max Preps, was the statistical leading sophomore linebacker in the state of California until I was sidelined for a game due to preparations for CIF (playoffs). I feel my strengths are leadership and work ethic, both in and outside of the classroom. I'm a self directed and self motivated student athlete aspiring to reach the highest level possible both on the field and in the classroom. On the field I'm very quick for a player of my stature. I'm quick to the ball and play down-hill. Another strength of mine is the ability to read plays quickly. This summer I received the Top Gun award given to the top overall athlete after our 11 event team combine. I am fortunate to be playing for a highly regarded competitive team and I'm looking forward to a great season. Faith, my family, education and sports are the driving forces for me.
