I believe I am a good candidate for a strong, competitive collegiate team because I am a hard-working, positive, athletic team member, have a strong work ethic, pride myself on being ‘coachable’, and am willing to receive constructive criticism. Though I prefer to play a midfield or defensive position, I am a versatile player with experience playing all positions and am willing to contribute on the field in any role in order to help my team. I am dedicated and put everything I have into everything I do, whether in practice or during games. My competitive drive and composure under pressure set me apart from other players, something not coachable but rather an internal driving force. My focus as a player is always consistent and I contribute positively to teams I am on as a vocal, communicative player and motivator. Lastly, I can firmly promise my coaches that I will always play to the highest level and potential each and every time I step foot on the field.
My skills as a player are complimented by my work ethic and contributions off the field as well. I take great pride on being a good student and contributing to the community and world I live in with heart and hope. I have learned and embraced the value of philanthropy and the importance of making a positive difference. At age 10, I founded Gold In September (G9), a childhood cancer non-profit dedicated to funding cancer research and bringing awareness to gold (G) and September (9) the recognized color and month for pediatric cancer to help every child, everywhere. My twin brother was diagnosed with cancer when we were just four and passed away after bravely battling for nearly seven years in 2012. During our travels as a family in search of a cure, I met kids from all over the world and realized we all had one thing in common . . . hope. I created Gold In September to unite our world under a golden umbrella of hope for kids.
Academics are also very important to me as I have high expectations and goals for my life after college and field hockey. My goal is to have a career in the medical field with a particular interest in working with children. I pride myself not only on my grades but also on my character as a school leader and representative.
I believe my tenacity, vision, and aspirations will lead me to great things on and off the field.
