For over seven years, I was a competitive year around swimmer. Swimming was my livelihood and something I thought I would never give up. But once I started playing field hockey again in eighth grade, I knew that the love I thought I had for swimming did not even compare to the joy and happiness I felt when I was on the field. My renewed passion for field hockey drives me everyday to challenge myself and learn as many new skills as I can. My strong work ethic is something I am very proud of and something that makes me work as hard as I do in practice. I am one of those players that will stay the extra five minutes and shoot just a little longer on goal when practice is over. I constantly strive to get better because I always know that I can improve in all aspects of my playing skills. Coming off an individual dependent sport, the team environment is such a breath of fresh air. I love working with a team who genuinely enjoys playing and supports their teammates through tough wins and losses.
Academically, I work as hard on the field as I do off the field. Being in the competitive Math and Science High School definitely presents its challenges and pushes me to my limits. I love the rigor it provides and how well it prepares you for the different style of teaching and the workload in college. I aspire to be working in the medical field, more specifically as a sports medicine doctor or a trauma surgeon. I hope to start volunteering soon at a local hospital to get more hands on experience!
I am looking for a collegiate program that can academically test my abilities and challenge me as a player. I am very versatile and have playing experience in all positions. Furthermore, I am more of an offensive player that is most valued at midfield or forward due to my speed, aggressiveness, and technical skills. I want to be a part of a program that loves the sport and the blood, sweat, and tears that go into it!
