Advancing to the regional semi-finals championship as a freshman was an exciting athletic accomplishment for me. However, I am still growing as a student-athlete. Frequently, I look to my parents, teammates, and coaching team to provide constructive feedback. They help to build my character and my performance on and off the field.
Field hockey is a growing program in my community. Fortunately, my elementary teacher introduced me to the sport. Since, I have not put my stick down. I attended countless training camps in my area and after several persuasive discussions, I convinced my parents that this was the sport for me but I needed more experience with a team. Joining a team motivated me more. Sure I probably lost more games than I won, but I kept returning to the field playing in any position that I was asked because I wanted a win for me and my team.
As a Virginia Commonwealth Governor’s School Scholar, I am seeking a challenging program that will excel me academically and athletically. I wish to pursue an international relations, political science, or pre-law degree. If you are seeking a determined competitor with a “why stop now” attitude for your team, I am your athlete!
