Sarah Krause '13 Recruiting Profile

I am a field hockey goal keeper that's 5 foot 3 inches, and 149 pounds. I've played field hockey since 7th grade, and was the starting varsity goal keeper my sophmore year at Conestoga Valley High School. The head coach at my school is Lee Gerdes, and I've learned a lot from the great training of this national team goal keeper. I've also played on the PennLanco Club team since my 8th grade year, and have enjoyed all the opportunities that were available to me. For any team I am a hardworker. I'm always on time and try my hardest no matter the conditions. I almost never miss a practice. Also, most coaches have told me I'm an extremely coachable person. If a coach tells me something to try, the next play, I try it. In addition to being coachable, I'm also a very optimistic, encouraging person who keeps the team motivated no matter the circumstances. I would love to play hockey in college and have a new team to encourage and a new coach to learn from! There are many schools that I like, but some things that are key items I like to look for in a school. I would prefer a Christian college, medium to small sized. I would also enjoy staying close to my Pennsylvanian home, but I'm ok with any school option. Expensive schools would be difficult for my family. My parents like to say we're "break even kind of people", but college is a bigger fee than any other we've had. So money would be an issue, but somehow God will provide. Major wise, I'm not positive, but I really enjoy education, kids, and love math, so was thinking of secondary education with mathematics. One of my goals is to be on a college team and play. I don't want to be one of the people that sit on the bench all the time and watch, I definatly want to be playing by my sophmore year in college.
