Michele Pozyc '14 Recruiting Profile

Hi, my name is Michele Pozyc, as of September 2012, I will be a junior at Arthur L. Johnson High School. I am presently beginning my third year as a starting varsity player for JFH. As you can see, I am very interested in playing field hockey and am working extremely hard to play at the next level. I play field hockey all year round. This pass season I attended 2012 Disney Showcase,College Connection and Super Sixty at West Chester University where I had a wonderful experience. During my free time I often go to the local field and hit around with my dad and practice my skills and hits. In high schooI,I also participate in varsity track as a shotputter and softball as a 3rd base for which I started freshman year along with field hockey. In addition playing sports,I also participate in Key Club, Student Council and Italian Club to stay actively involved within the school. I enjoy watching movies and shopping and working with children. My current weight is 127, height is 5'1, and speed will be worked on at a speed school on the off season. My most important sport accomplishments in high school making varsity team for both Field Hockey and Softball as a freshman. I also started and played the entire game and every game for each sport. During myfreshman and sophmore year we clinched the North 2 group 2 Sectional Champion title for field hockey.In softball, we clinched Conference Championship title. I was named Rookie of the Yearand Honorable Mention my freshman year and 3rd team all county as a sophmore for field hockey. I also was awarded Honorable Mention for softball my freshman year and as a sophmore First team all Conference, First Team All County, and Third Team All State. Some colleges that I have researched are, Monmouth, Rutgers,William and Mary, Sacred Heart, William Patterson, Montclair, Farleigh Dickinson, Kean University, New Haven,Drew, West Chester, CW Post, Towsen, Hobart and William Smith. I am still researching options. My desired majors would be education/guidance. My goals will be to make my self eligible to be a D1 athlete and/or get into a school that best fits my field of study. I will need to continue to work hard on and off the field. I plan to continue to train on the off season to reach that goal, along with bringing up my GPA.Going into my junior year I would like to accomplish just as much as we did over the past 2 years.I will step up as a good leader and facilitate the younger girls in order for our team to secure their state title.
