Playing field hockey in college was a realization I had after completing my first season on my high schools varsity team. I began to play as a 6th grader and have fallen in love with the sport. Now I am looking for a program that will help me develop as a Goal Keeper and challenge me to be my best. My game sense was developed from my time as a defenseman and its unique perspective allows me to make saves and create plays in the circle. In addition, I also work out and run with the rest of the team not only because I believe the goalie should be every bit as fit as the rest of the team but it is also another opportunity to show you are an integral part of the team. Outside of field hockey, I am also a member of my high school’s marching band which also competes in the Fall and is every bit as rigorous as any varsity sport; our school has won three state titles. I also volunteer at the local middle school, library, and church. Helping others is an activity I enjoy.
Academically, I have an outstanding record taking only Honors or AP classes and achieving high marks. In my search for a college, I am looking for a school that will provide me with the opportunity to play field hockey competitively as well as pursue a major in one of the STEM disciplines.
