Growing up I played a wide variety of sports such as soccer, softball, basketball, dance, gymnastics, water polo, and swim. I've always loved sports because there is always room to improve. I am a senior this year, and this will be my fourth year playing field hockey. I picked it up really quickly and ended up playing varsity games my freshman year. As a freshman, I was terrified of all the older girls because they were so much better than me. It's amazing to think that in three years, I have transformed into the girl that others are terrified of.
For the past three years, I have started as a forward wing. This year, I tested my skills, and now I play mid-field as well as forward. Last season, I was the leading scorer. I have been playing USA Futures since 2013. This year, I am the captain of the varsity team. I am an excellent leader. I think of my teammates as an extended family. They can come to me for anything from tips on how to improve on the field, to problems off the field. To demonstrate my skills, at the end of this season, I received First Team All-League, and team Offensive Player Of The Year.
I am in a club at school called Club Interact, which focuses on improving the school and community around us. The club gives me community service hours. I also like to volunteer at an elementary school in my spare time. I am 110% committed to playing field hockey at the next level.
