Golfer Maddie Fleck’s NCSA recruiting story
Getting recruited can be daunting, but golfer Maddie Fleck found success with the help of NCSA. Here’s her inspiring journey.

Meet Maddie, a competitive golfer from Celina, Ohio who knew she wanted to play golf in college. She wasn’t sure where to start or how to find the right school for her – and that’s when she turned to NCSA.
Through her NCSA MVP membership, Maddie worked with a personal recruiting coach, Abby Phillips, who played Division 1 golf at Indiana State University.
“She was always there for me whenever I needed something,” she said. “Even it was small, just shoot her a quick message and she would get back to me super quick.”
Maddie also utilized NCSA’s College Search Tool and Match Analysis to find schools that would fit her academically and athletically.
“[The Match Analysis tool] was awesome because I knew what schools to look for and those schools knew that my profile was on there when they were looking for golfers, ” she said, “There were a lot of schools out West that I had never heard of but I was able to reach them with NCSA.”
She then used NCSA’s College Coach Directory and Message Center to reach out to college coaches at schools and make connections.
After accepting an offer at Division 2 Ashland University, Maddie reached out over text to her recruiting coach to share her exciting news. “She responded that night and it was just a super special moment between us,” Maddie said.
Looking back at her recruiting process, Maddie said she saw how far ahead of her competitors she was thanks to NCSA.
“They weren’t getting recruited like I was, and they were doing it all on their own with no guide, no coach to help them along the way,” she said. “Just knowing that I started out behind but was already very far ahead of them in the recruiting process and was able to connect with so many more coaches because of NCSA, that truly was a breath of fresh air for me.”
