I am a driven and committed student athlete, giving 110% in everything I do to achieve my personal goals, as well as the goals of my team. I learned early on that to be an effective team member you have to be willing to pick each other up and rise above adversity. We win together, we learn together but we never really lose so long as we grow from the experience as a player, a person and a team. This attitude has served me well both on and off the field. My college plans include pursuing a degree in architecture, or mechanical/sports engineering at an institution where I can also play baseball competitively.
Baseball captured my heart at a young age. As the youngest of four children in my family, I was always trying to catch up to my older siblings. They were patient; teaching me everything from how to throw a football, shoot a basketball or swing a bat. They always made time for one more hit, and another game of catch. That foundation of support inspires me to give back to players younger than myself. I enjoy sharing my love for baseball by lending a hand whenever I am able: assisting with score keeping, field prep and umpiring youth games.
Derek Jeter once wisely said, "There may be people who have more talent than you, but there's no excuse for anyone to work harder than you do." I often times think of that quote as I work on my game and my studies. It pushes me to do another rep and encourages me to review my materials for class one more time; never stopping short of giving it my all to reach my full potential. I honor the time and commitment others have invested in me by continually working hard at all aspects of my game and studies so that I may continue this journey into college. Each time I take the field I am privileged to carry the responsibility to honorably represent myself, the name on the front of my jersey, as well as the name on the back. Those that have supported me and continue to provide me with opportunities deserve nothing less than my best effort and attitude at all times.
