Personal Statement

I'm Ryan Tackett, I grew up in Spring, Texas and started playing ball at 5 years old before moving to The Woodlands HS to begin my high school career. I have played on varsity since my sophomore year, hitting 3 hole my sophomore year and 4 hole my junior year. I play RF, 1B with an equal ability and I am a strong switch hitter, as I am most known for my bat, because I can swing a big stick. I bring power and extreme consistency both sides of the plate. I have found that when I am challenged by the better pitchers I am at my best. I have been successful hitting against the likes of Kevin Roliard, Chris Andritsos, Durbin Feltman, Luken Baker, Tyler Davis, and many other Division I pitchers while playing for the The Woodlands and Houston Banditos, not only in Texas, but on the national level on multiple occasions, such as in Florida and at Lakepoint Georgia where I made the 17u All-Tournament team in July 2016. I led the team in batting average the last two years at The Woodlands, and I have been doing everything I can to help my team win. I have been timed by laser at Sam Houston State as running a 6.82 60, but as low as a 6.67 at The Woodlands. I believe my skill set could benefit many college programs, and I will always like to help my team win as I have been doing since I was 5. (Losing sucks, but it can make you better). I am always working hard, and am usually the first man on the field and the last man off. Every day I have a job to do, whether it's taking grounders, being in the cages or hitting the weight room. I am interested in majoring in either sports marketing or engineering at this point. If you'd like to know more about me, please email me at [email protected], or my personal email [email protected], and I would be happy to answer any questions. Thank you for your time!

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
