Avery Sheldon '17 Recruiting Profile

My mother is my role model.  She has battled and beaten breast cancer.  She was the one to instill the love of baseball in me since I was able to hold a bat.  As I have grown older, that love has only intensified.  When a person has told me that I wasn't good enough to do something, I have proven them wrong time and time again.  Being a baseball player has been such a huge part of me for so long, that I don't plan on it stopping at any time soon.  The mental aspects of baseball are something I love, and that which most people hate.  I love the "chess" and the thinking that goes on in the game.  

I have been blessed to be a Varsity starter every year of my High School career, and now that I have accomplished that goal, my next one is to play in college, and use that as a tool to help me obtain a college education.  In the years I've played in High School, we haven't been blessed to play in the postseason, but I have taken it personally to push my team harder and harder each season, and I plan to do all I can to help us finally break through during my senior year.  I strive to find ways in which I can better myself in everything I do, never being satisfied with "good enough".  I hope to prove to you that I will quickly become someone you can count on, and be a leader on your team as well!
