Joel Rivera '16 Recruiting Profile

My name is Joel Jose Rivera Orta from Colegio Bautista de Caguas High School in Caguas Puerto Rico. I am much grounded in my Christian faith and thank God for my family, my friends, and the talents He has blessed me with each and every day. I'm a 6'4" - 230 lbs. Junior and I have a strong academic background with a 3.8 GPA. I have a strong work ethic in both academics and athletics. I'm the starting first basement  on my baseball teams and a right hand pitcher. I am looking for a college with a strong academic program as well as a competitive athletic program. My goal is to play college baseball and pursue a Sports Management degree. I have established a personal goal for my senior year and that is to become a leader in my team and help it get to the finals. To help me achieve my goals I am working with a position coach,batting coach, and speed and agility coach.

Playing college baseball has always been a life-long goal since I was in Little League. I have dedicated hours and hours of hard work to make myself better at the sport I love. I will like to play at a school that fits me academically, personally, and athletically. I am looking for a school that has a history of academic excellence, family-style atmosphere, nice athletic facilities, and a baseball team that wants to compete at the highest level possible.
