Personal Statement

Now that I am beginning my last year of high school, I realize that my dream of playing college baseball is almost here, and it is time for me to find the right school. I plan on attending a university that is as competitive academically as it is athletically and I intend to study and graduate with an engineering degree.

I intend to excel in the game of baseball by doing whatever is necessary to reach my full potential on the baseball field. I would thoroughly enjoy playing for a highly competitive program that strives for excellence in its players as well as its coaches. I am extremely coachable because I understand there is more than one way to play the game. I look forward to learning the game from as many perspectives as possible which will enable me to further my understanding.

I have the desire and work ethic to be successful on the field as well as the classroom. This can be validated by being second in my class academically, and my athletic accomplishments throughout my high school career. Up until this past year I have been a multi-sport athlete. As a freshman, I played on all three football squads. On the freshman squad I was tailback/safety, on the JV squad I was tailback/safety also, and on the varsity squad I started as a wide receiver as well as special teams. In the sport of baseball I have been the starting third baseman since and including my freshman year. As a freshman I was second in hitting on the team behind our senior shortstop.

Please note that I am willing to do what is necessary to achieve all of my personal goals. With that mindset I am confident that I will be able to achieve my highest potential as a student, as well as an athlete.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
