Connor Holmes '20 Recruiting Profile

 My name is Connor Holmes. I live in Goshen Ohio, a small town on the east side of Cincinnati. I am 5’9’’ 165 pounds. My primary position in baseball is catcher although in recent years I have been fortunate to get the opportunity to play outfield as well as third base and second base. I love to catch because I know on every pitch I will be part of the action. Being able to manage aspects of the game from behind the plate is what motivates me to learn more about the game and my opponents. I have also been able to utilize my speed in the outfield and on the base paths to help my team. Although I love to be behind the plate I am more than willing to play any position or role that helps my team be better on the field.

 Outside of baseball, I also like to play many other sports. Through elementary and middle school I played football and basketball when it wasn’t baseball season. My freshman year of high school I decided to drop basketball and give bowling a shot. I am still a three sport athlete in high school but my sports have changed. Changing from basketball to bowling has allowed more time to train for baseball in the off season. I am always looking for ways to take my game to the next level.

 Academically, I like to be challenged which is why I ultimately decided to attend Moeller High School. I try to take as many Honors and AP classes as my schedule will allow. One of my proudest accomplishments to date is being designated a scholar athlete. I also have a passion to learn and lead. In the summer of 2016 I was invited to participate in a STEM/Leadership program at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. That was a great experience where I learned how to be an effective leader not only with words but with actions.
