My name is Harrison Wirth and I am in the 2015 graduating class in Scarsdale High School in Scarsdale, NY. I have had a passion for baseball for as long as I can remember and primarily play shortstop and second base for both my high school and travel teams.
In addition to the Varsity High School team which I have played on beginning with my sophomore year, I have played the past three summers for the New York Nine Team. I have also played three years on both the 14U and then the 16U Maccabi Team from Westchester County where we medaled in national competition every year. I have traveled extensively with all these teams.
I like the camaraderie and action of team sports - in addition to baseball I also play varsity football and played one year of basketball for Scarsdale High School. These sports activities, along with continued workouts with my summer baseball coach, keep me in shape all year. I also have managed to maintain a strong GPA and demonstrate time management skills to balance my studies with my athletic time restraints.
The team environment is extremely important to me and much of my time off the field is also spent with my teammates. I have also done community service with both the New York Nine team and the Maccabi team.
I have enjoyed taking on Leadership roles including being selected as a Civic Education Advisor, a spot awarded to me by my Dean at the High School where I serve as a role model for the Freshman and Sophomore classes.
As I think about my college years I would like to be part of baseball team that cultivates the entire team experience both on and off the field. I am serious about my education and maintaining good grades but have always been part of a supportive yet challenging team environment.
