Hi Coach,
My name is Andrew Ciampaglia. I am about to enter my freshman year in high school. I am already thinking about playing baseball in college. I have played baseball since I was five. I have been on a club team since I was nine and have also been playing on my town travel team. This year I played on my middle school team.
Ever since I first played T-ball I have loved baseball. I love playing on a team and working together to get a win, or working together to fix our mistakes. I love the thrill I get when I strike out a batter, or get a nice hit, or make a good play. I love it all and hope to play the game for a long time. I could go on about what I love about the game, but I guess you want to know about me.
I am 6 feet tall, 180lbs, right handed and fast for my size (and working to get faster). My fast ball is in the high 70s and has reached 80, I have a good curve ball, especially since I just learned throwing it this year. This off season I will be training at my baseball club team training center. I hope to take my baseball skills to the next level and to gain some speed on my pitching. When I am not pitching I play first base or third base. I have even played the outfield when my team needed me.
In the off season I have been playing club basketball, my position is Center. I like basketball and the team atmosphere there too, but baseball is my passion. I have been taking batting and pitching lessons for years and find with the lessons and hard work I am really improving.
I am hoping to play baseball throughout high school and in college. I want a college that will give me good academics and good baseball. I can work hard at both and really want to succeed. I am not set on a big or small school or an exact location. I just want a good fit for me. I am thinking about a major that involves sports, perhaps sports management. Since I am just a Freshman I haven’t yet decided.
I hope there is something about me that interests you. Please let me know if you would like more information.
Thanks
Andrew #99
