Seth Dement '13 Recruiting Profile

My name is Seth Dement. I started playing baseball in the front yard at age 2 and have been playing ever since. While other kids were dreaming of being super heros, I was dreaming of playing baseball. I have very supportive parents and have been fortunate enough to play several years of travel ball during summers. I am prepared for the job and believe I can play at the next level. As pitcher and catcher, I am able to control the game and provide the leadership my coach expects .I enjoy keeping everyone's spirit up in the dugout when times are not going as well as we know they should. I am easy going and like to have fun. I was unable to play my sophomore year due to Tommy John surgery, this proved to be a blessing in disguise. My arm is stronger and so is my desire to play ball! I have a consistent 80+ fastball, change up, slider and curve ball. I know how to read batters decide their weaknesses and take advantage. I am extremely confident in my off-speed pitches. I lead my team in homeruns, had 29 RBI's and a .323 batting average in the 2012 season. I am a team player and a leader and feel I would be an asset to any program. I am not afraid to work hard; I make my spending money by doing yard work in the hot Mississippi summers. I plan to atttend college and major in nursing. I volunteer at the local hospital helping the eldery. I am looking to play at the college level. I am open to all levels. If given the chance, I will work hard for the baseball program both on and off the field. My name is Seth Dement, and I am ready to play ball!
