My name is Jonathan Leighton. I am 6-2”, 160 lb. and my 60-yard time is 7.37 sec. I have a lean tall build and very athletic. I am a very good Defensive Catcher my best pop time is currently 1.99 . I currently am the starting catcher for Chanhassen High School Varsity Baseball Team. We are playing .500 ball this year and have 7 new position players with 3 starting sophomores I have Started almost every game, I am the starting catcher  for the American Legion post #580. I lead the team in OBP, Batting Average and extra base hits in 2012'. and finished hitting .371 with 22 rbi and starting 24/26 games 2013' and have started all but 3 games. I also play for HitDawg Acadomy -18U and South Florida Bandits 17U travel teams. I have entered PG showcase tournaments and have made top Vol lists as a catcher thee times. My secondary position is 3B.  I am a disciplined hitter and thrive under pressure. I have always played on high-level competitive teams,  I was named to Gopher Classic ALL STAR TEAMS 3 times  ( 2009'-2011' for my hitting and fielding averages.

I bring a positive attitude and good work ethic to practice, games and team events. I work hard at getting better every day and try to lead my team by example. I believe attending the right college with a good team atmosphere will allow me to excel and become one of the best team player and leaders possible. My ultimate goal is to have the best college experience, excel in my studies and play as long as I can.
