“There may be people who have more talent than you, but there's no excuse for anyone to work harder than you do” - Derek Jeter
Baseball is very important to me and it is has been my goal since I can remember to play at the collegiate level. My focus is to play college baseball at the highest level possible for a school with strong academics and I plan to do everything possible to make that happen. I also hope to play as a college freshman and make an impact on my team.
I have played baseball my whole life and have always loved everything about the game. I have put a lot of effort into maximizing any talent that I may possess through playing for travel/town/school teams, practicing with my dad and a hitting coach, and doing strength training 3-4 days a week since I was 11 years old.
Recently, I was the starting second baseman as a freshman on the Ipswich High School varsity baseball team while achieving a 3.9 GPA as a freshman. As a baseball player and a student, I am hardworking, focused, a good listener, and have a good attitude. These characteristics allow me to get good grades and perform well in sports. Right now, the beginning of my sophomore year, I am 5’9” and weigh 160 pounds. As an athlete, I am decently fast and have good quickness, which also allows me to start for the JV basketball team. I plan to continue to do strength/fitness training to get quicker, faster, and stronger in the next few years. I also will work to continue to increase my leadership skills and learn from upperclassmen with the goal to be a team captain and give back to my teammates.
I will continue to work hard during high school to improve my skills as a baseball player while achieving good grades with the ultimate goal of one day having the opportunity to play college baseball.
