My goal is to play college baseball at the highest level possible that will also give me the opportunity to get a great education. I would also like to be in a position to play, but I realize that playing time is earned. Being a catcher, I know that many of my teammates look to me to be a leader both on and off the field, so I have tried to lead by example. I work hard to be better behind the plate with getting all the reps I can. I also work hard to become a better hitter. That may be working with a hitting coach or just hitting off of a tee to get extra work in. But I also try to set an example by working hard in the classroom by making sure that my school work comes first.
What I feel makes me different from other recruits is not only my strong work ethic, but my willingness to help my teammates get better. For example, this past high school season I approached some of my teammates who I know pitch for their summer teams, but weren't pitching for our high school team. I worked with them after practice, catching their bullpens so they could get their work in and be ready if called upon for our high school team and be ready from their summer seasons. I have let it be known to baseball facilities in the area that I am always available to catch bullpens for pitchers. I have had the opportunity to catch for Patrick Naughton from Virginia Tech and Casey Sullivan from Louisiana Tech.
Recently, my parents and I made the decision to have me transfer schools and reclassify to a 2020 graduation year. I felt that this would help me continue to develop both academically and athletically.
