Sadler Delahoussaye '21 Recruiting Profile

I remember the day of my first varsity game as a seventh-grader my exact words to the coach when asked if I was nervous was “I am more ready than I am nervous. What’s the point of being scared? It is just baseball right? I just want to have fun and be the best I can be.”

I will always remember that and anytime I step on the diamond against the best of the best I just think of those words. Ever since I was six or seven years old, I’ve always had a want to play baseball. It’s an addiction almost. All throughout baseball I’ve always been one of if not the youngest of the group. I can remember one time I was in 5^th grade and I tried out for a varsity home school baseball team. I’ve also played on the varsity baseball team at my school for 2 years now. I’ve had quite a few experiences with older players. My goals in baseball is to be the best I can be and play for as long as I’m allowed. Academically, I want to maintain a 3.7 GPA or higher throughout high school and graduate with honors. I would love to go to college and major in business or engineering. My dad has really influenced me throughout my life. All I’ve ever wanted to do was play baseball like he did. He has taught me almost everything I know. He has always been there as a father and I can only dream of being the man he is. One of my unique character skills is to be able to learn other peoples tendencies. For example if I’m on base I can pick up on looks and how he acts when a breaking pitch is coming or if he is coming with a fastball. It’s something I’ve noticed throughout my life. All I ever want to do on a baseball field is hustle and be the best I can be. I cannot do anything more than that on a diamond.
