My name is Kolton Rominski (Class of 2016) and I am an honor student and multi-sport athlete at Marian Central Catholic High School in Woodstock, Illinois. I have been playing baseball since the age of six. I have played on Elite travel teams (Top Tier and Hitmen) for the last 7 years. Our team finished 12th at the Perfect Game National Championships in Georgia (16U) last year. We have traveled all over the country playing top level talent and have excelled doing so. I have led that team in hitting 3 of the last 4 years, have started every game in the middle infield and have been one of the top pitches. In high school, as a sophomore, I led my team pitching in strikeouts, ERA, and strikeout to walk ratio. I was also selected as All Area Honorable mention. In the High School playoffs I threw a no hitter in the regional game. We play in one of the most, if not the most, competitive conferences in the state which only makes us better. I have an intense passion for competition and for playing baseball.
My primary goal is to secure a quality college education with aspirations of playing baseball at the collegiate level (and ultimately at the professional level). To achieve these goals, daily I focus my efforts on working hard academically, athletically and socially, both on and off the field. Academically, Marian Central Catholic is one of the top private high schools in the Midwest. I have a diverse and challenging academic schedule which includes honors and AP classes and currently have a cumulative GPA of 3.97. I have also been selected as an Academic All Conference student athlete. I have taken my knowledge in the classroom and applied it to the field. I am a student of the game. Preparation is a key to success in anything you do. I work extremely hard to make sure I am prepared whether in the classroom or on the field.
My athletic goal is to take my team to the state championship and win. Personally I would like to put on 20lbs of muscle and to continue improving my power, speed, agility and knowledge. I weight train and take elite speed/agility training 4-6 days a week (4-5 days during the baseball season) and believe that a strong work ethic is essential to being successful both on and off the field.
I am a strong leader who gets the best out of others and I believe that the best way to lead is to show by example. I truly believe that I will be a great asset on and off the field to whichever school gives me the opportunity.
