Baseball has always been one of my biggest passions. Having played my fair share of other team sports growing up, it has remained the one true love and constant in my life. For as long as I can remember, I have been playing the game… In fact, if I sat and thought about it, I believe I have played or participated in some form of “organized” version of the sport since the age of 5. Playing all these years has helped me realize my true love for the mental strategy involved as well as the physical aspects of the game.
Of the many qualities that I have developed while playing baseball, perhaps the one I am most proud of is my ability to maintain an open mind while being able to adapt and deliver when the team needs it. Anything from a simple sacrifice to move runners along, to grabbing that extra base in a late inning, tight game situation. I take great pride in the fact that I have been referred to as “extremely coachable” by several of my current and former Coaches. I strongly believe that being a good teammate is critical and I always strive to achieve this attribute by doing my part to contribute and pick up those around me when they are struggling. But most importantly, I have learned that failure is a part of the game as well as in life and it’s what you do after you fail that defines who you are as a person. Every dropped ball, strike out and tough loss has taught me valuable lessons that I carry forward in life.
My dream is to be given an opportunity to play competitively while continuing my education. While open minded about where I ultimately may play, I am drawn in particular to the Central and Southern regions of the Midwest. I hope to become an integral part of a competitive program where I can thrive and continue to grow as both a ballplayer and person. I am thankful for all the opportunities I've had to do the thing I love most...Play Ball!
