Ethan Gerstner '17 Recruiting Profile

As a student athlete, I bring hard-work and dedication to the baseball field and inside of the classroom. I believe that my academics and schoolwork always comes first.  I have been passionate about playing baseball for as long as I can remember playing the game. I am always striving to become a better athlete and also a better student everyday. Whether it is studying for an upcoming test or catching one of my team’s pitchers in a bullpen, I always will be looking to learn.

            My goal for my college experience would be to find a school that I will be able to excel academically and athletically. I am looking for a school that will offer a Pre-Med program because that is what I want to study in college while hopefully playing baseball.  My weighted GPA is 3.4 and my SAT score is 1220. I took the June ACT and the scores have not been sent out as of now.    

            My catching abilities continue to grow day by day as I strive to increase my skill level behind the plate. My pop time is approximately 2.0 and consistently in that range. I am working hard to improve that and break the 1.9 mark this summer. I have been recognized as being a leader on the field between letting fielders know how many outs there are and where their throw should go to letting the fielders know if the foul ball is in play or out. Playing baseball is a passion I have grown to enjoy and love throughout the years and playing college baseball would be an amazing experience for me to learn and develop my skills at a college I can learn in the classroom as well. I will bring leadership, confidence, and dedication to any team that I play for at the next level.
