Personal Statement

Thank you for taking the time to view my profile.  I will be a Senior at Mt. Zion High School, where I am a three sport, varsity athlete.  I have been a varsity starter for three years, beginning when I was brought up midway through my freshman year.  I also play for the Decatur Commodores 18U club team, that is coached by former major league player, Kevin Koslofski.  My strongest baseball attributes are my overall athleticism/strength, ability to drive the ball while hitting for average, and my versatility in the field, where I have started games at shortstop, 3rd base, and centerfield.

What I believe sets me apart from other talented players are my leadership skills and my commitment to excellence at all phases of being a student/athlete. I have a 4.32/4.00 GPA and am ranked 14/187 students, having taken Honors/AP classes.  I was named team captain in basketball, chosen as a Team/Camp leader at Point Guard College, and selected for the Coaches’ Award twice for baseball.  I take pride in being a team leader that leads by example, while also being a true team player, willing to adapt and do whatever is needed to make the team better.  My competitive nature and desire to improve each and every day help to push not only myself, but my teammates, to higher levels.  The self-discipline and work-ethic required to maintain academic excellence, while competing in three sports, are important traits I would bring to a college program.

My goal is to find the school and baseball program that best align with both my baseball talent and academic goals – somewhere I can be an important contributor on a close-knit, successful team and pursue/earn my engineering degree. I look forward to the opportunity to explore how I could be a valuable addition to your team.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
