Sept 2012Personal Statement
My name is Blake Sowell and I am a right-handed pitcher for the Kaneland High School varsity team in Maple Park, Il. I also play on the 18u U-Dawgs summer team through Cangelosi Baseball in Lockport, Il and on the Team MaxBat 18u national team. Pitching is my primary position but I am also a middle infielder for those teams. I’m 6 feet tall and 180 lbs. I have three pitches that I use; a fastball in the mid 80’s, a changeup, and a curveball.
Baseball has been my passion since I was a little kid. I love everything about the sport such as the aspect of it being a one on one sport at times as well as a team sport. I have dedicated myself to getting better since I realized that college baseball was my dream. I am a hard worker and will bring that mind set to any team I am on day in and day out. There is always room to improve and I want to get better in any way that I can. I give my all as soon as I step foot on the field.
I am 100% dedicated to becoming the best student athlete I can be and I will do anything possible to achieve that goal. I will work as hard as I can for the school that gives me the chance to play for them.
