Kory Olsen '17 Recruiting Profile

Playing baseball at the collegiate level has been a goal of mine since little league.  I aspire to have a career in law enforcement or in the maritime industry, and I feel that the team mentality that I have embraced for most of my life will help me excel in either area.  One positive contribution that I will bring to a team is a level headed presence in the dugout.  I never let myself be swayed by the momentum in a game, and always come up to the plate or approach a ground ball with the same clear mind.  I have been told that I am very coachable and feel that my will to succeed is unmatched.  Whether I'm playing sports or in the classroom, I always strive to be the best.   I finished my junior baseball season with a .393 BA and a .496 OBP, which earned me 2nd team all area honors and allowed me to represent my conference at the Chicagoland Midsummer Classic along with 17 of the other top returning performers in the conference.  From this showcase, I was nominated for the Team Illinois showcase team.  My junior year I was the only male three sport athlete in my class, playing both basketball and football along with baseball.  In the classroom, I have a 3.24 GPA and a 26 ACT with a super score of 27.  I believe that my work ethic, leadership, and athleticism will make an excellent addition to any team.
