Baseball manager Tommy Lasorda once said, “ There are 3 types of baseball players; those who make it happen, those who watch it happen and those who wonder what happens.” I’m a guy who plans on “making it happen” in all things I do in my lifetime. This started for me when I was 6 and first stepped onto the baseball field. My dreams and goals have grown since them, but in the end everything I do will be to “make it happen” for myself, my family and for my future.
I’m a team player; I lead by example and encourage my teammates. I’m currently the a Captain on my travel ball team because of the passion I show for the game and the leadership I’ve displayed on the field. I love to be coached! Being coached makes me a better player and I’m always looking to be better! I’m the first one to practice and the last one to leave.
I study hard and maintain a good GPA. I know that my education is important to my future career success. I have learned to manage my time effectively. My schedule is busy; I study, volunteer, babysit and work a part time job. I do all of this on top of my very extensive baseball practice, training, and game schedule and I wouldn’t have it any other way. I pride myself on being on time to everything I do! I’m completely enjoying my high school experience, and cannot wait to begin college and start the next stage in life. I’m fortunate that I have the opportunity to go and plan on using it to the fullest. Where I go isn’t as important to me as finding a college with strong academics that align with my goals along with a challenging athletic opportunity. Together I feel these will prepare me for a successful future.
I want to leave you with a quote from baseball hero Babe Ruth. He said...” baseball was, is and always will be the best game in the world” and I couldn’t agree more. The questions for me now isn’t if I will be playing, but where I will be playing. Hope to see you on the field!
