Personal Statement

My first love would be to play baseball professionally. But knowing that I need a back up plan in life, I am very interested in the field of Sports Medicine, Physical Therapy or Athletic Trainer. Being around and working with athletes is a joy. There is a satisfaction knowing that you've help someone else try to be the best that they can be.

Since my early days of playing, I've always been a teammate that others can count on. Either on the field or off. I have earned the respect of my opponents as a competitor and a person. Those that I have had the privilege to play with knew they could count on me to give a consistent performance and support. Coaches appreciated that I played with the philosophy of no "I" in team. When asked to sacrifice or move up or down in the line up, I've tried my best in every request.

I hear many players "talk" about working hard. Yet when no one is looking, they stop working. With in the last year I have dedicated myself to truly work hard! That means lifting weights, doing speed and agility workouts, running on my In between days, taking batting practices, working on my throwing and most importantly working to improve my grades! I've always done my school work and obtained a "B" grade and a few A's here and there. But trying to maintain a 4.0 really takes work! I finally achieved a 4.0 in the last semester of my sophomore year and am on track to another 4.0 my first quarter in my junior year. My 60 time has dropped below 7 sec and now have my target set on a 6.6! Hard work is starting to pay off!

I know I am not the most talented, fastest, hardest hitting player out there. But what I bring is the work ethic that few are willing to put out. Every coach that I have played for has never been disappointed. I look forward to my next believer.
