Riley Kelton '21 Recruiting Profile

    I will never forget when I came home and opened an email that said I made Team U.S.A. That has been the best part of my baseball journey so far. Being able to start on the varsity team at my school in 7th grade made me grow as an athlete. It gave me the experience to play at a higher level of baseball that not every 7th grader gets to do. The experience made me want to work harder and get better to help the future of our baseball program at my school. I learned as a person to be humble and to take advantage every opportunity I get during that first year after we finished with a record of 6-18.

    I had the amazing opportunity to learn from my high school coaches who have played baseball at a very high level for the past two years and I am lucky enough to have them for four more years. They have taught me that to be successful in anything you do in life, that you have to have work ethic and a great mindset. You need to be committed to your teammates and to always have each other's backs. I have learned that I am a leader through baseball and if I want something, I have to work for it. I want to play at a high-level baseball program that is the right fit for me academically and athletically. I believe that I have the determination, work ethic, college level talent, and the on and off the field leadership that it takes to play at a high level of baseball.  I play by the quote "I don't want to be remembered as an average ball player. I want to be remembered as the best to step on the diamond". I know I have the skill and leadership to play on your team and have a major impact my team and the people around me!
