Ryan Gabriele '18 Recruiting Profile

Hello Coaches,

My name is Ryan Gabriele and I am a high school junior in Wilton, Ct. I am a left handed pitcher. My goal over the next two year's is to attend an academically acclaimed college as a student-athlete. Baseball has been my passion ever since t-ball and playing in college would be a gratifying accomplishment. I plan on majoring in business/finance. I feel that I would be a good fit into many collegiate baseball programs because of my skills and knowledge of the game. I understand that it takes year round dedication and hard work to keep improving. This past winter I spent five days a week conditioning my body and improving my skill sets, as well, as lifting and running. I also joined the Northeast pitching velocity and development program. This program is driven towards mechanical efficiency  and mental toughness/composure. This allowed me to become much more knowledgeable regarding pitching mechanics as a whole and helped me be more in tune with my own mechanics.    

    Since I was nine years old I have been playing with teammates years older than me. As a pitcher this experience has helped me to understand how to get batters out using all four of my pitches rather than relying solely on a fastball. This has carried over into my performance this summer.  I played in a 19U league with many returning college freshman and recorded a 74% weak contact percentage (soft ground balls and pop up's, tracked by "Gamechanger"). I believe this is a testament to setting up batters, executing, and commanding pitches in the zone. As well as starting games I enjoy closing games. I’ve been in many high pressure scenarios and I want the ball when the game is on the line.
