I am Japanese, born and raised in Tokyo, having lived in the Tokyo suburbs through middle school. I grew up playing Japanese baseball, which unlike the US is a year-round pursuit from elementary school. I played every Saturday, Sunday and holiday, 50 weekends a year, from 8:00am to sundown. Both my offensive and defensive skills reflect years and years of this very disciplined approached to the game. I am proud to say that I played eight years in this extremely rigorous environment, including a highly selective team called the Asao Giants, coached by former US Major League Pitcher, Masumi Kuwata.” These baseball team members have gone on to play at other schools. Justin Novak went to UVA. Tyler Sapsford has now committed to Yale.
Now, I have moved to the US, and am playing at Hillsdale High School. I have played for varsity team as a starting shortstop from my Sophomore year, and I became the first team all league infielder in my Junior year.
