Personal Statement

Competing in the CIF State Track & Field Championships as a sophomore was the biggest accomplishment of my high school career.   Through all of my experiences in track, I was able to grow tremendously as a student-athlete, as well as gain the confidence to pursue the dream of playing my “First Love”, baseball, at the college level.  I fell in love with the game of baseball at the age of 12, although I wasn’t what you call a “Natural Athlete”.  That being said, I’ve always been taught, “it’s not the chance that’s slim, it’s the effort”.   So from an early age, I started to pride myself on giving 100% effort in everything I do in order to give me the best chance to succeed.  Through that mindset, I’ve been able to achieve all of the goals I set for myself thus far both in school and in sports.

Along with earning my degree, my future goal is to play baseball at the college level.  That being said, I believe I possess the work ethic, commitment, as well as the desire to be able to achieve both goals.  I know what it takes to be the very best, and I am willing to invest the time and effort to become that for my baseball team on the field, as well as for myself in life.  I understand that hard work must not stop on the field, it must also translate at home with my family, and at school with my education.  I am a coachable player, willing to absorb all teachings from my coaches and mentors in order to benefit me both on and off the field.  My belief is that "champions work harder all day" and I strive to be a champion in every aspect of my life.  I feel that any team I play for will appreciate the commitment I have to my team (both coaches and players), my character as a young man, as well as my abilities on the baseball field.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
