Michael Cortez '16 Recruiting Profile

I have built a strong sports and academic resume up to date, based off my team-player personality, consistent challenges and desire to succeed. I have shown the drive, determination, and qualities to be a starter on Varsity since my freshman year at Clairemont High School in San Diego, CA in 2012. Since then, I have starterd every game, led my team in all offensive stats and have also earned  the award of Second Team All-Conference as a Junior in 2015. In addition to my stats and playing history, I have always been committed to keping high grades and strong professional and academic relationships with people inside and outside of the baseball sphere.  Baseball is my passion and I am confident that I can continue to play at the next level, given my experience in travel leagues as well as high school. While my sports goals are very high, I also have high academic goals as well. I plan to study sports marketing in college because I have spent most of my life watching sports and sports channels such as MLB Network, ESPN and others. I believe that my knowledge of baseball as well as my exposure to marketing mechanisms has prepared me for a successful education in sports marketing. 

I am confident that I will be an asset to any team I play on. I have invested time and energy to achieve my goals and I'm excited for what the future holds.
